I've always wanted to catch the almond blossom bloom, but by the time I'm aware it's happening, it's just about over. This year, I got a head's up, and I took the kids to an open space preserve in the beautiful Capay Valley, then on to the Almond Blossom Festival. They gave me five minutes to take photos, and I made them most of them.

It's the final push for senior photos, and I had such a good time with this young man. Intelligent, talented, and ready to strike out on his own. My favorite part of this shoot was photographing him with his band instrument, where he was most definitely in his element!
